The Federal Election Implementation Team (FEIT) welcomes the results of the Upper-House Election that took place on Wednesday 11-August-2021 in Garowe, the capital city of the Puntland State of Somalia.
The Names of the Elected Senators are:
- Abdirahman Mohamed Mohamud Farole
- Mohamed Ali Yusuf (Gagaab)
- Mohamed Abdi Isman (Majiino)
- Abdullahi Ali Hersi (Tima-cadde)
- Abdisamad Yusuf Mohamed (Abwaan)
- Dahir Ayanle Sa’ed
- Farhan Ali Hussein
- Zeinab Ismael Mohamed (Tiimbiye)
- Abdikani Gelle Mohamed
- Samiro Mohamud Haji Awad
- Sareedo Mohamed Hassan (Jeyte)
The committee commends all the parts who have participated in the holding of this election.
The chairman of the Federal Election Implementation Team (FEIT), Mr. Mohamed Hassan Irro congratulates the Puntland State of Somalia for holding the Upper-House Election. Also, Mr. Irro commends how Puntland State of Somalia respected the “Women Quota” after they have elected three female members out of eleven senators for the Upper-House.
In conclusion, the committee urges the other federal member states to start the election of the Upper-House to meet-up with the deadline set by the election schedule in order to assure that, the election of the both chambers of the federal parliament take place in their slated times.
