The Federal Election Implementation Team (FEIT) welcomes the results of the Upper-House Election that took place on Sunday 15 August 2021 in Baidoa, the interim capital of the Southwest State of Somalia.
The Names of the Elected Senators are:
- Hassan Hussein Haji
- Abdiweli Mohamed Ibrahim
- Ali Sheikh Mohamud Ga’al
The Federal electoral committee appreciates Southwest State of Somalia for electing all the eight senators for the Upper-House. Thus, Southwest becomes the second federal member state who completed all the senators allocated for its state. In this regard, the Federal electoral committee praises the Southwest administration and entire community of Southwest for this achievement.
The chairman of the federal electoral committee Mr. Mohamed Hassan Irro and other members of the committee call the remaining federal member states to expediting the elections for the Upper-House in order to assure holding timely elections based on the different election agreements agreed by the federal government of Somalia (FGS) and federal member states (FMS).
